Ductwork

To be efficient, ductwork must be properly sealed. Ducts are tested to locate leaks or damage so that problem areas can be repaired. Airducts can be a breeding surface for bacteria, mold, mildew and fungi. Duct systems should have no “dead ends” where dust and stagnant air can collect. If a duct must have a dead space, a duct door for cleaning may be needed. Any section of duct straight or not will collect some dust. The dust can then be caught by the filter. Periodic duct cleaning should be done to maintain proper airflow throughout the duct system.
